About the role
This role represents a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute significantly to the growth of the business whilst gaining personal development and training, and a competitive salary package.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting our Commodity Manager and Group Sales Manager with acquiring grain and protein commodities
- Managing and reconciling commodity contracts for our five mills – from execution to payment
- Developing and maintaining relationships with grain trade suppliers
- Overseeing inward logistics
- Executing direct ships for sales and purchases
- Co-ordinating commodity sales direct to customers
- Assisting with price setting for inbound commodities
- Managing inventory levels
- Understanding customer and supplier needs and market trends
About You
What’s most important to be successful in this role will be your ability to focus on outcomes, your positive attitude and hunger for success, as well as your:
- Previous logistical experience, ideally in grains and protein markets
- Exceptional admin, communication skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically with Excel
- Well-developed numeracy skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Driver’s license and ability to travel between mills as required
Would be ideal is if you also have:
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Commodities background preferably with knowledge of grain contracting and supply chains
- Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce/business or agribusiness
- Existing network of grower/trade/supplier contacts throughout regional South-East Australia
